The External Plate Retention Tether helps keep the outside mounting plate secured during setup, removal, and adjustment. If the plate is bumped or slips while you are positioning the fan, the tether helps prevent it from falling away from the tent.
Made from 550 paracord and approximately 3 feet long, the tether is designed to work with different tent and camper setups.
It can be:
attached to a GFC T-slot or compatible rail
routed through the paracord cleat / pass-through
wrapped around a loop, hook, or anchor point
captured in the tent zipper when that is the cleanest option for your setup
Use it as a simple secondary retention point for the outside plate while installing, repositioning, or removing the fan.
